Safety Circuit

According the standard DIN EN ISO 13849 that deals with "Safety of machinery—Safety-related parts of control systems" (see standardisation), operating resources need to have a mechanism, that switches them either completely or parts of them off in case of imminent danger. Safety circuits in WEETECH's test systems meet these requirements.

 

A safety circuit is a chain of linked operating equipment and serves to protect the operator or other persons, the environment or the operating resources. In case of error, the security circuit will be interrupted immediately. As soon as it is interrupted, the test procedure will be stopped.

 

The interruption of the safety circuit leads to the disconnection of the generators and to the grounding of the connected wires of the measurement bus systems. Which generators are finally disconnected or if generators stay connected need to be taken from the manual of the respective tester. Low voltage test (e.g. open test, short test) and high voltage test (e.g. insulation test, HV-AC test (electric strength), HV-DC test (insulation resistance)) are often controlled individually.

 

In case a safety circuit has been interrupted, it can only be reactivated after the careful inspection if the error has been resolved.

 

Safety circuit jacks (SAFETY) that are integrated into most of WEETECH's test systems allow the integration of external security equipment such as a light curtain or a light barrier into the security circuit.
